While we were driving here on Sunday, I was reading in Proverbs 24, and I came across a verse that I believe God's given me for this trip. It's rather dramatic, but I believe it's a reminder for us why we're really here. It's hard to remember when you're singing fun songs and playing games and remarking how cute the little children with the big brown eyes are, but the fact is if they don't have Jesus as their Lord and Savior, they're on their way to an eternity without God. This is the verse, Proverbs 24:11.
Deliver those who are being taken away to death,
And those who are staggering to slaughter, Oh hold them back.
As you look at the pictures of these children and their families, the ones I'm about to post and the ones in the coming days, pray this with us. Pray that God will look at them in mercy as those who are staggering to slaughter. Pray, "Father in Heaven, Oh hold them back." Pray that He will use us! Whisper across the miles to us, "Bashford Manor team, deliver those who are being taken away to death, and those who are staggering to slaughter, Oh hold them back!"
