God's faithfulness to His glory

As you can probably see in the picture, I'm a little different in situations like this mission's trip than you normally see me. I'm seeking the goal Paul wrote about in 1 Corinthians 9:22b, "I have become all things to all men, so that I may by all means save some".

But we have all been tired, distracted, unmotivated, etc. The most defeated moments are right as we pull up to start a VBS/BBC meeting. I noticed this feeling in myself and mentioned it to the others. We need a push, and not just any push, a push from God. And we consistently get them. Each of us has worked through being tired, sick, having a headache or just plain forgetfulness. Each time we have no doubt that God is working in us to motivate us and deliver His word to these children.

For myself, I have to continually pray that God will motivate me with patience, love, compassion, praise and the urgency of the spread of the gospel. Each time God comes through. It reminds me of the verse in Exodus 34:14, "for you shall not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God". God's very name is Jealous. He alone should receive all our praise and honor and worship and attention. He's worthy of it.

I'm also reminded of the deceitfulness of our hearts - betraying us to evil affections even as we try to lead VBS. Please pray that as we seek to glorify God by relying on Him alone, that He will glorify His name by providing all we need to proclaim Jesus Christ.
