If you don't know who Clara is, first read this post. Friday we went back to the place where I'd met Clara, and an older woman was sitting in a car outside the apartment where she'd been staying. She told me a little more about Clara. Clara's husband had hurt her, and Clara had left with the two little boys. She was going to go to a shelter, but the person in this apartment had offered to let her stay there. She couldn't stay there for a long period of time--Clara was on the couch, and the two boys somewhere else in the apartment. So sometime between Wednesday and Friday, Clara left that place and went to stay with her mother-in-law.
I doubt I'll ever see Clara again, but I know that God is sovereign and has a plan for every encounter, every step He places in front of us and enables us to take. He had a reason for putting Clara in my path last Wednesday. Pray for Clara's safety, and that of her two little boys, and for her uncertain future here on earth. But most of all, pray for her uncertain future in eternity. Clara's heard the gospel, and now she has a Bible, the only certain truth in the whole world. Pray that God will open her eyes to that truth!
